Ted Nagel, the youngest of 8 children in a very musical family, was raised in a suburb of Los Angeles, California...he was surrounded by music his whole life. In fact, his father was once able to boast of having the second largest collection of 78 records on the west coast and his sisters, “The Nagel Sisters”, released a record the day Ted was born. Despite being born with a disability, which confines him to an electric wheelchair and limits the use of his hands and feet, Ted has made the best out of what life has offered him. He has taken every obstacle he has had to face and made them into challenges, always finding a way to overcome them.
He has actively pursued his love of music, acting and singing in 6 musicals early in his life and a few melodramas more recently. He has sung in various churches, a barbershop chorus, singing competitions and has even tried out for NBC’s The Voice and ABC’s Karaoke Showdown. He is often seen singing in many other venues around the Carson Valley, where he has lived since 1996. Many locals remember his weekly Karaoke gigs in some of the Carson Valley’s local hot spots for nearly 20 years.
Ted's dream is to be the front man for an old time rock-n-roll band and record a few albums of his own. He says, “Music is in my heart and I’ll keep singing solo until I find the right combination of musicians to produce a quality sound.”
When he's not singing or DJ'ing, you can usually find him sitting behind his computer working on graphic design projects or coordinating community events.
